Pine trees, pine trees (pinus spp. ) are the commonest coniferous tree around the globe, numbering around 100 species. These trees form large forests characterized by wide open areas with sunlight spilling to the forest floor. Pines are sun-loving trees that don’t grow well under shady conditions. These kinds of trees live within the northern hemisphere, with the exception of for the sumatran pine (pinus merkussi) surviving south of the equator. Evergreen, these conifers are regarded as evergreen, which means that that they retain their needles for a minimum of two years.
